New Review: Faceless by Alyssa .B. Sheinmel

Maisie's life was pretty good, Maisie had a boyfriend, prom to go to and was the running track star. But Maisie's life dramatically changes when Maisie is caught running in a thunder storm and is trapped in an electrical fire that takes away most of her face but also scarring half her body.

Maises spends months upon months in a special burns unitit having to come to terms with the fact that she won't ever look like Maisie. Maise has to have a face transplant to have some resemblance of a face since losing so much in the fire.

Her parents decide to throw Maise back into school dispite her not fully acepting the massive changes she has undergone, when she gets back to school everything changes,  her friends, her boyfriend, the stares, oversympathetic teachers it's all really to much for Maisie to come to terms with.

Eventualy Maise starts dealing with her life altering situatuion and goes to a support group to help her find a bright side,  where they understand her but not pity her.

This book made you see the cruel yet reality if things like having a new face, a deformity and I know it's upsetting but it also is great to understand half of what it is like, the heartbreak, losing friends, the oversympathetic people without books like this we simply wouldn't understand without actually going through it.
