One of these books I have not read but is so popular and the films make me want to live in there is Harry Potter. The rest I have actually read but the reasons I would like to live in them differ. Some are for the jobs, animals, the places, forests, the character themselves and many other reasons.

20 Books That Made Me Question Life

We all have the books that made you question life, wether they made you question the way you think, act, love or even just make you think above and beyond anything you ever thought of.

For me personally the books are like gold, they make me who I am, they help make me a better person, the books make a change that I don't thin I could make without books. They help teach and educate me. These books are from an eclectic mix of genres, some are a few years old in publication and some are fairly new.

Some of the reasons I picked these books are because they made me appreciate the time we have with others, the need to tell people you love them, getting over bullying, struggling with mental health and a bunch of over wide ranging reasons.

Storm Born by Amy Braun

It's amazing to be reviewing Amy's books for her, Amy is an extremely talented writer bringing the unthinkable to life.

I really enjoyed reading Storm Born it was witty even when the situation deemed unhumorous, incredibly visual throughout the entirety of the book and was just all round perfection.

I think it was great that Amy had the storm in the book personally because that sort of devastation is real in real life and from my point of view I only see these sort of storms on the news. This book has helped me understand the devastation that happens when these sort of storms happen.


The book is based on a lady called Ava who lives in Florida, Ava and her family are normal but the world is anything but. The Centennial has arrived, storms across the world appear Dust storms, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes and blizzards rack the entire world reaching havoc and destruction by aliens called the Stormkind. Nowhere is safe.

Ava and her family are hit by a massive ocean flood through Florida making it life threatening for those who didn't win the special safe guard lottery or those who are not rich to find a proper place to hide and be safe. Ava and her dad need to get the family into the basement but because of her dads back they cannot shut the iron heavy door.

They have to make a decision, who goes down to the basement with Ava's mum and little brother, or who tries to shut the door and stop the flood coming into their home. Ave makes the decision to try and shut the door making her dad go safely to the basement but she can't shut the iron door and the flood keeps pooling in the house. Ava decides to leave the house and go to one of the Storm Protection Union stations to try and get help.

Things go drastically wrong when Ava tries to swim in the flood where she finds a Stormkind wreaking havoc from across the street, he controls the storm making the flood and lightning more intense when he wants the storm to. The stormkind finds Ava's neighbour, using his powers the stormkind brings her neighbour to him and sucks his life away.

Ava can't believe what she has just witnessed it was said that these creatures were not real even when there was photos no one believe they were real. Until now. The stormkind notices Ava and wants her, he manipulates the flood so that Ava gets closer and closer to hime, there is no doubt that he wants to kill her.

Out of sheer luck someone saves her from the Stormkind or that is what she thinks until the mystery saviour puts a dagger through her chest. Ava wakes up in agony and a foggy memory not knowing that she had been unconscious and missing for a week.

Things get stranger and stranger for Ava, people want to kidnap and kill her, a mysterious guy hands her a dagger to protect herself.

Top 11 Books

This was meant to be a 10 books blog but...... Theres to many books I just decided to put my preferred 11 Books I am not saying these are the books you have to love and agree with but consider if they intrest you

No particular order.

• Am I Normal Yet by Holly Bourne. I loved reading this book because of the trueness and realness the charecter conveys when Evie the man character speaks or just inner dialog in Evie's brain. Evie has a severe case of OCD and the book shows how bad OCD can over take someones life. 

• Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli. The reason this book is on my top 11 is becuse of the greatness of the story, the magic between Stargirl and Leo. Stargirl is the type for personwho doesn't want to be labelled or a version of everyone else. She has a crappy time through school as she is so different and other kids just don't except that making her life hell. 

• My Sister Jodie by Jacqueline Wilson. Sisters Jodie and Pearl have to leave thier comfortable lives and uproot too a boarding school in the middle of nowhere with thiere parents. Pearl is the timid shy girl and Jodie is the bull in the china shop, boisterous,  loud proud girl. Jodie soon loses the plot when she never seems to get on with the people around her. This is my go to book when I need to read something over and over again. 

• The Fault In Our Stars by John Green.  So I'm sure most of you will understand whythis is on the list. I cried for so long watching the film and also reading the book. A teenage love story made so sad and magical all wrapped in one. It makes you feel honored to watch and read these precious, enchanting moments between two people. 

• Gingersnaps by Cathy Cassidy.  I loved the magicness that is entwined in each CC book.The book is about a young girl called Ginger who reforms from her old bullied self to a new and improved bully proof, stylish girl. Her tough demeanor falls apart when Ginger meets Sam a trilby wearing sax playing mystery. 

• Beastly by Alex Finn. Adaptation of beauty and the beast. Kyle thinks he is invincible,  he walks around his school like he owns it and thinks the pupil owe him something because of his local celebrity. His attitude towards people and life is terrible but the worst is yet to come when he publicly shames Kendra an outcast at school. She turns him ugly and his only chance for freedom is if a girl falls in love with him exactly the way he is. 

• Wonder by R. J. Palacio. August has had a sort of deformed face since he was born unfortunately making him estranged with kids his age. His parents have kept him away from school but decide to let him go to a private school. This will change his view on life and people forever,  having to accept the fact that he isn't like other kids and learning that kids can be cruel. 

• American Sniper by Chris Kyle.  This was an incredible and insightful read about life being in the SEAL's and having to cope with starting a family and being involved with tours to Iraq and other places fighting to survive. Kyle became one of the best Sniper Shots in American history. His pride and protection of America is simply incredible. 

• Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon. Maddie is allergic to everything its as simple and as complicated as that,  she can't go out for fear that she will be severely ill or even die. Maddie has excepted this fact and feels that with her mum and her nanny Carla she couldn't want anything more than a cure. Untill the next door neighbors move in with a complicated life and Olly who makes her question her life,  bringing more meaning and care than she tjought she could get. 

• Jayne Eyre by Charlotte Brontë. This book was the first book I learnt to read when I was eight so of course this book means a lot to me. Jane is such a strong spirited charecter, stubborn Jane's will shall not be bent. Jane being an orphan has to libe with her aunt who has horrible children that think Jane is wicked because of her temper and startlingly red hair. 

• A Game of Thrones by George R. R Martin. I love how dark and twisted GOT is. The throne is the goal and everyone thinks they should sit on the Iorn Throne. The houses fall apart at the  chance of claiming the iorn throne and heads will roll, wars will begin and two faced people will be out to stab you in the back.... Literally. 

Me Before You by JoJo Moyes *Spoilers*

Well I hate to say it but for me there was some flaws to this book, not that I didn't enjoy reading the book it's a few nagging points that didn't leave after finishing the book.

The first thing is that I felt the book was a little clichéd with the whole, disabled person being incredibly rude then falls deeply in love with the person they were rude too and of course they both hide their feeling until it is pretty much too late.

Another personal opinion is that I found it very harsh that even though the other characters declare their love for the other person then they go and kill themselves anyway. I know it is probably a good plot twist andy everything but still...

So anyway The book is about a lady called Lou Clark, Lou struggles after the cafe she worked at for years closes, rendering her jobless and needing to provide for her parents.

Will Traynor had everything he could ever want, girls, an amazing hot shot career and lots of money. But all that will knows changes when he was in a motorcycle accident making him Quadriplegic, Will cannot move anything from his chest down and has to have a motorised chair.

They meet when Lou's last option at the job centre is to be a carer to Will Traynor. When Lou starts her first day with Will he is horrid to her, he makes her feel dumb and stupid when she is unsure of what to say to him and unsure of how to approach him.

After a while of Lou working with Will he becomes a little less arrogant and manages to string sentences together without intimidating Lou so much, as they begin to like each other more Lou finds out that the real reason she is looking after Will is because he tried to end his life a few month prior to Lou's employment.

She also finds out that Will wants to go to Switzerland to end his life as he despise what he has become and can't stand not having the life he wants. Lou wants him to see that there is life after what has happened to Will trys to take him on fun adventures to try and change his mind.

I did enjoy the book the writing was great and most of the expected emotions were met. I did like the story overall it was a pleasure to read all in all.

Angelfall by Susan EE

The world changed within a few days, freak storms and tsunamis hit the world. And with the storms....The Angels. Now you would think that Angels were good right?
Well you are wrong especially since to the Angels humans are nothing but servants or experiments when they take the children to be scorpion 'Locust's'.

Penryn is the rock in her family of three, her mum who is mentally ill and is a danger to the three of them, Paige her 7 year old sister who is disabled and needs Penryn to survive and Penryn takes care after the three of them after had dad left and the apocalypse started, when they needed food to survive and someone to stop the gangs hurting them. To guard them from the Angels.

A group of Angels fall to Earth in a big fight against one specific Angel, Raffel, Penryn helps Raffe to survive but whilst helping him another Angel takes Paige and flys away.

An amazing book full of suspense, mystery and trouble.

This was my first Apocalypse themed book and it was amazing to have such a detailed visual image throughout the whole book. Nothing was hard to image and that made the book that much more amazing. Completely enjoyed every minute of this book couldn't of asked for more.

As soon as I finished Angelfall I continued straight on to World After as I couldn't resist delving into more of Penryn's life.
